God is an alien; He is not us
He is so other as to be unrecognizable
to Pat Robertson or Franklin Graham

All things began at his word - such power is inconceivable
Einstein could barely comprehend it
And we are fools if we believe
The silly tales and doctrines of men

Copernicus saw the truth and then published
On the Revolution of Celestial Spheres
Galileo Galilei believed and began the Scientific Method
The Roman Inquisition said science contradicted the Holy Writ

In 1837, William Harper wrote that slavery was no necessary evil
He said slavery was a gift of God to the white man
Which proves my point that God is an alien
He is as different from us as the amoeba is from a rocket ship
The amoeba travels by using a pseudopod
The Falcon 9 rocket is built and flown by SpaceX

It is the vision of seeing something no one has ever seen before
It is the faith to believe there is another way
The Way It Is was a song written by Bruce Hornsby
It was released in September of ‘86
I need to remember his words as if they were Holy Scripture
I need the strength that comes from God above

These days are dark with racial hatred
And evil men invoke God to justify their wicked deeds
But God is an alien - He lives in another dimension
He travels in space ships better than any ship of Jean-Luc Picard

God is not like us, even if he made us in his image
As of late – we are nothing like what he had planned
And when discouraged and tempted to be faithless
I remember the words written in the Book of Hornsby, Chapter 1

That’s just the way it is
Some things will never change
That’s just the way it is
Ah, but don’t you believe them

I'm watching the 2004 film "What the Bleep Do We Know!?" which stars Marlee Matlin, and deals with quantum uncertainty. A pretty heady subject for a Hollywood film, no doubt. All of my life, I had this feeling that was very hard to quantify. The feeling was that this world is all less real and more fantastical than anyone I knew felt. I remember in 8th grade when the teacher told me to refrain from touching the air conditioner's thermostat that I told her no one really touches anything. It is only the force of our electrons repelling each other. She was not amused. So, in this film, the ideas of quantum physics, quantum mechanics are discussed by several intellectuals who are quite enjoyable in both their appearance and their delivery.
