Lost & Found
I saw a shoe on the sidewalk
I found one glove in the elevator
Yesterday, there was a blind man
With a white cane in McDonald's
All of us have lost things
Some more precious than others
I still have two kidneys
But I know a man who donated one
To a complete stranger
Some things we give away
Some are stolen
Other things
Just wear out
I only noticed this yesterday
When the black man in the shiny warm ups
Shared his table with the blind man
But I stayed seated
Ate my salad
Like I do every day
And felt
Nothing
I found one glove in the elevator
Yesterday, there was a blind man
With a white cane in McDonald's
All of us have lost things
Some more precious than others
I still have two kidneys
But I know a man who donated one
To a complete stranger
Some things we give away
Some are stolen
Other things
Just wear out
I only noticed this yesterday
When the black man in the shiny warm ups
Shared his table with the blind man
But I stayed seated
Ate my salad
Like I do every day
And felt
Nothing
