To be completely honest I have a tenuous relationship with reality
I've found it often doesn't suite me
It is unpredictable, risky
I cannot control it
And yet, in moments more lucid, I remember
Two beautiful daughters who came unexpectedly. Unplanned.
A single, unsolicited email from Match.com -
That grew into a perfect day, a wedding on the beach
And that, is my challenge - To Remember, in the midst of fear
That, shifting winds, although controlled by others
Have brought much more sunshine
Than clouded, cold, rain
And that any house
Shuttered to the expected storms & winter's cold
Will also miss
The unexpected sunshine
The lovely warmth
Of this January day

I'm watching the 2004 film "What the Bleep Do We Know!?" which stars Marlee Matlin, and deals with quantum uncertainty. A pretty heady subject for a Hollywood film, no doubt. All of my life, I had this feeling that was very hard to quantify. The feeling was that this world is all less real and more fantastical than anyone I knew felt. I remember in 8th grade when the teacher told me to refrain from touching the air conditioner's thermostat that I told her no one really touches anything. It is only the force of our electrons repelling each other. She was not amused. So, in this film, the ideas of quantum physics, quantum mechanics are discussed by several intellectuals who are quite enjoyable in both their appearance and their delivery.
