Good vs...

it is impossible to see clearly my own face. even the mirror distorts what the eye refuses to see. am I good today? was i bad on thursday? i am unable to say. such a judgment requires a wisdom i do not possess. all the wasted days of navel gazing would have been more profitably directed at sunsets or joy chipmunks - whose gleeful abandon is so much closer to goodness than anything i have ever done.



Give up the thoughts that lead to false distinctions!
There is no "self" and no "other",
no "anger", no "hatred",
no "love", no "victory",
no "failure".

Liberating yourself from evil is not so hard.
Discarding the idea of "goodness" is much harder.

Normal life carries on without people noticing just how extraordinary it really is...

Religion is taught so badly that people either end up believing a silly fairy tale or end up not believing it. What good is that? In either case, God gets ignored.

Think of all the centuries, the money, the effort, the tons of stone put into building houses of worship. Didn't they know God is homeless?

I'm watching the 2004 film "What the Bleep Do We Know!?" which stars Marlee Matlin, and deals with quantum uncertainty. A pretty heady subject for a Hollywood film, no doubt. All of my life, I had this feeling that was very hard to quantify. The feeling was that this world is all less real and more fantastical than anyone I knew felt. I remember in 8th grade when the teacher told me to refrain from touching the air conditioner's thermostat that I told her no one really touches anything. It is only the force of our electrons repelling each other. She was not amused. So, in this film, the ideas of quantum physics, quantum mechanics are discussed by several intellectuals who are quite enjoyable in both their appearance and their delivery.
